In the Philadelphia Flyers' 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators, Wayne Simmonds scored two goals.
It's the fifth time this season Simmonds has scored two goals in one game. The other four are:
- Nov. 28, 3-0 over the New York Rangers
- Dec. 21, 4-3 over the St. Louis Blues
- Jan. 25, 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins
- Feb. 2, 4-2 over the Montreal Canadiens
So whenever Simmonds has two goals in one game, chances look pretty good for the Flyers to win!
Here's the fun part, though: nobody else has more multi-goal games this season than Simmonds. Just five other players have five multi-goal games this year:
- Jamie Benn
- Johnny Gaudreau
- Mike Hoffman
- Tyler Seguin
- Steven Stamkos
That doesn't mean they're all two-goal games - there's a hat trick or three sprinkled in there - but when it comes to scoring more than one goal in a game, Simmonds is in pretty good company. It's certainly no surprise he leads the Flyers in goals.
