BUFFALO -- With the 172nd pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers have selected Anthony Salinitri of the Sarnia Sting of the OHL.

The Flyers acquired this pick in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings at the 2015 draft, where they traded down in the fourth round and also added this sixth rounder this year.

Here's what a profile of him from the OHL Writers has to say. Salinitri was ranked 84th overall by NHL Central Scouting among North American skaters. He's a left-handed center standing 5'11, 170 pounds.

Salinitri has good speed which is also apparent with the puck on his stick. He can be creative with the puck and can make plays. He gains zone entry with his speed and possession. He can get in on the forecheck but needs to add strength to be more effective. He will not shy away from the physical game. He’s good defensively and won’t get caught cheating. He’s also a good penalty killer. Besides adding strength, his biggest need is to find more consistency in his game.
