Flyers make third round of cuts, sending 10 to Phantoms

Several big name prospects remain in Flyers camp, however

Washington Capitals v Philadelphia Flyers

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms kick off their training camp on Friday, and since they need players to be able to do that, the Flyers have sent 10 down from NHL camp to the AHL squad.

Here’s that list of players, who join another seven that were sent to the Phantoms on Wednesday:

  • (RW) Nicolas Aube-Kubel
  • (C) Radel Fazleev
  • (LW) Tyrell Goulbourne
  • (D) Robert Hagg
  • (C) Corban Knight
  • (G) Alex Lyon
  • (LW) Danick Martel
  • (G) Anthony Stolarz
  • (D) Reece Willcox
  • (RW) Mark Zengerle

Hagg is the first of the notable prospects on defense to be sent down to the AHL. Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim and Phillippe Myers all remain in the big camp with the Flyers. Sanheim is the only one of those three eligible to play in the AHL this season.

At forward, Travis Konecny remains in Philadelphia. He’ll either be a Flyer or he’ll be sent back to junior in Sarnia, and like the other notable prospects still in Flyers camp, he probably has at least one more preseason game in him before that decision is made.

The Flyers are in preseason action again on Saturday vs. Boston and on Monday vs. New Jersey. Their roster now stands at 39.
