Samuel Morin will likely make his NHL debut tonight on the Flyers blue line after being recalled from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this morning. He might not be the only kid to do so, though.
Crossing Broad dug up a tweet from the brother of Mike Vecchione -- the Union College forward signed as a free agent by the Flyers last week -- that hints strongly at the possibility that he could be in the lineup tonight. Joe Vecchione has since deleted that tweet, but ... the Internet does not forget.
He’s replaced that tweet with the following (and he also apparently changed his Twitter profile picture after Crossing Broad called him “less attractive” than his brother in their story, lol):
The hackers must have gotten into my twitter to expose my unattractiveness through a rumored story about Vecchione playing tonight.— JoeVecchione (@JoeVecchione) April 4, 2017
Now let me go cower in the corner and sob into a cheesesteak (or 5).— JoeVecchione (@JoeVecchione) April 4, 2017
Dave Hakstol indicated that Vecchione might not make his debut until Saturday, but with just three games left on the schedule — tonight, Saturday, Sunday — and the playoffs no longer a concern, the Flyers might as well get him into as many games as possible. What’s the worst that can happen?
