UPDATE: Turns out the San Jose Sharks were a bit late to release their schedule! This post has been revised to account for that information.

While the 2017-18 NHL schedule in its entirety will be released on Thursday as we kill some time during the period between the expansion draft and the entry draft, today we’ve received some news on at least three games the Flyers will play next year: their home opener and their first two games of the season.
The countdown is on!

The Flyers will, for the second straight year, begin their season on the west coast. After beginning last year against the Los Angeles Kings, the Flyers will start off this season in San Jose against the Sharks. But they’ll be right back at it the next night down in L.A. against those very same Kings they began last year against.
With 10 days between the season opener and the home opener, the team will likely have a few road games to start off the schedule — much like this past season, in which the Flyers played in L.A., Glendale, and Chicago before coming home for the first time. We haven’t seen any other teams announce the Flyers as their home-opener opponents, but we’ll update this post if we do. Could there be a trip to Vegas in that time? One can only hope.
The Flyers’ home opener, meanwhile, will be against the Washington Capitals. The rest of the schedule will be released tomorrow, but now we know: 105 days until Flyers regular season hockey. Get excited.
