CHICAGO — After months of debate about Nolan Patrick vs. Nico Hischier, Philadelphia Flyers and hockey fans will finally get their answers tonight as Round 1 of the NHL Draft gets underway at United Center.

It’s the first time Chicago has hosted the draft, which will be expanded by seven picks this year thanks to the addition of the league’s 31st team, the Vegas Golden Knights. Each of the seven rounds will have 31 picks, with the first 31 taking place on Friday night and Rounds 2-7 taking place Saturday morning.

The New Jersey Devils won the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery and moved up to the No. 1 overall pick. The Philadelphia Flyers jumped the most spots in NHL Draft Lottery history when they moved from 13th to the No. 2 overall pick in a draft that’s widely considered to have a large gap between the top two prospects, Patrick and Hischier, and the rest of the bunch.

It’ll all kick off at 7 p.m. ET time, 6 p.m. local time in Chicago, and it can be seen on NBCSN in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada.
