After trading up to No. 35 to select Isaac Ratcliffe, the Flyers’ next pick was at No. 80, a position they were at because they traded Zac Rinaldo for a third-round pick back in the summer of 2015. Two years later, the team has used that pick to select Russian goalie Kirill Ustimenko.

Ustimenko spent this past season with St. Petersburg in the MHL, posting a .938 save percentage in 27 games, the second-best save percentage among regular goalies in the league. He also made two appearances for the Russian team in the Under-18 World Junior Championships.
