Winning streak over, now bring on the Leafs

NHL: Philadelphia Flyers at New York Rangers Dennis Schneidler-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Flyers were unable to extend their winning streak to five, dropping a mistake-filled contest to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

Sean Couturier’s goal-scoring streak came to a halt at four, not to mention his multi-goal game streak, ending at three. Claude Giroux was held without a point for only the third time since December 4th (17 games), ending a four-game point streak of his own. Giroux has not scored a regular season goal against the Rangers since February 11, 2012.

Nobody was particularly sharp on Tuesday, and the deficiencies in head coach Dave Hakstol’s questionable lineup were on full display, surrendering short-handed goals and breakaways, turning pucks over and passing instead of shooting all night. Check out the BSH Radio Facebook Live postgame, for Bill’s reaction to a disappointing game, highlighted by the many blunders of Brandon Manning.
