*We’re back at this thing again tonight, folks. This time it’s the Devils. Who like likely be without Nico Hischier, presumably because they know Nolan’s Better. Anyhoo, before we move on, let’s look at what we learned from Tuesday’s streak-snapping loss. [BSH]

*Some good news for tonight’s game: looks like James van Riemsdyk is a go. [Philly.com]

*So it might be time for us all to have a little chat about Ivan Provorov. What do we think is up with him? Injury? Yips? Forgot how to play hockey? The Flyers are going to need him to be better if they’re going to be better overall. [Philly.com]

*Speaking of Provy, it seemed like an interesting idea to take a look at who is performing better than last season and who has gotten worse over these first games. So we did it. [BSH]

*And now, the Phantoms! The kids played one of those random Wednesday night games last night but let’s take a look at how the fared over the weekend. [BSH]

*Meltzer’s got some Phantoms news as well. [Flyers]

*There’s a chance the Flyers might have another gem in the goalie pool in the form of 19-year old Swede Samuel Ersson. [The Athletic]

*We had a one-for-one trade yesterday which is always fun because it seems to happen so infrequently. Bad news is the Penguins clearly came out on top of this one. [ProHockeyTalk]

*The NHL GMs don’t really care about the goalie whining about the equipment, which is evident in their comments from the GM meeting. [The Hockey News]

*The latest 31 Thoughts, which kick off with Bettman hating fun. As is his way. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, on European expansion, and why it should never actually be reality. [National Post]
