According to the team’s Twitter account, General Manager Ron Hextall has shared that the Philadelphia Flyers have named Barry Hanrahan, who is considered the team’s cap guy, the Vice President of the club. Hanrahan will remain Assistant General Manager, a role he has served since the 2005-06 season.

After six seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Hanrahan joined the Flyers’ organization for the 1997-98 season as the team’s Assistant to the GM. He fulfilled this role until the 2005-06 campaign, when he was named the Assistant General Manager.
