The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have re-signed goaltender Alex Lyon to a two year contract. The 25 year old restricted free agent avoids arbitration with this deal that will take him to his age 27 season. Lyon made his NHL debut last year and posted a .905 save percentage with a 2.75 GAA in 11 games.

Lyon was signed in April 2016 as a college free agent from Yale University. Last year, Lyon posted solid numbers with the Phantoms in the regular season with a .913 save percentage in 27 games. The young netminder really stepped up, however, in the playoffs for Lehigh Valley, posting an incredible .944 save percentage with a 1.98 GAA in 11 games.

The amount and contract type are unknown at the moment, this article will be updated once we have all of the details.
