*We’re down to 16 measly days and there’s no choice for the player reference, so today we celebrate the man who’s defined the Flyers since he put on the sweater, an absolute beaut, a guy whose face we wanted to punch for most of the 90s: Robert Earle Clarke! If you were lucky enough to see him play in person tell me your fav memory. It’s Friday, let’s have some fun.

*Anyhoo, here’s an interview with Ron Hextall, who says some infuriating things about what he thinks of the current state of the penalty kill. [Courier-Post]

*Charlie takes a long look at the 2017-18 season of Michael Raffl, for the paying customers. [The Athletic]

*In case you missed, yesterday was the big reveal of the totally-not-surprising #1 spot on our 25 Under 25 ranking, Ivan Provorov! We hope you guys enjoyed the ranking; it’s fun for us and it’s super fun to go through fan ballots and see who you guys like or don’t like. If you’d like us to do something differently next time, let us know! [BSH]

*The Flyers released their scheduled of giveaways! Get those freebies! [Flyers]

*You probably already know BSH’s own Craig Forsythe as one of the hilarious guys responsible for the Flyperbole podcast (and if you don’t, go listen and then thank me later), but Craig’s story about why he’s a Flyers fan will leave you feeling some feelings this morning. [BSH]

*And finally, we have a new guy! He’s super cool and his name is Bill and he’s very smart, so we’re hoping he’ll have some cool stuff for you once hockey actually gets underway. Welcome Bill to the fam! [BSH]

*Happy long weekend, everybody!
