Greetings
Hi there! My name is Casey Liberatore and I am a Freelance Photographer covering the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Is it cliché to say I was born and raised a Philadelphia Flyers fan? When you are raised with a hockey family in Drexel Hill, you know one of those places that’s right outside of Philly, it becomes tradition to all sit around a TV watching the boys in orange and black.

How did I get behind the lens?
It was really all thanks to my parents and grandparents for giving me my camera for Christmas a couple years back. Thinking about it now, receiving that Canon was the best gift ever. I started off, and still to this day, taking photographs of my brother’s swim team. What started as a hobby just practicing with his summer swim team, turned into gaining access to be on deck at his college swim meets.
As I became more confident with photographing and capturing swimming, I wanted to take my camera and challenge myself with a sport I have loved for my whole life. I looked all over the place for a way to get my name out there and into the hockey world. I honestly didn’t know what to do next. Thankfully, I came across Heather Barry, who has helped me tremendously the past year. Not only is she a friend but she has become a mentor and a teacher when it comes to photographing professional hockey. She helped me get my foot in the door at the PPL Center.
How many days until the 2018-2019 season?
I am so excited to head back to PPL Center in beautiful Allentown, Pennsylvania to cover this year’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. I am so honored and excited to be a part of the Broad Street Hockey team this season. I am extremely determined to grow, learn and improve this season and continue to create my own style. Here’s to a crazy and eventful season and to sharing some awesome content with you all!
