Tuesday Morning Fly By: This sure is a lot of games

New, comments

Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes…

Heather Barry

*The back to back to back to back preseason skedge continues tonight in Brooklyn, and after last night’s big win it’ll be interesting to see which players move up and which move down.

*Well, we definitely won’t be seeing these four guys. The team has made its first set of cuts, sending a few guys back to junior and releasing Liam Hughes from his ATO. [Flyers]

*Hockey’s back and so are Maddie’s observations. Here’s the ten things we learned from the Flyers’ return to the (preseason) ice. [BSH]

*Good news is that it would appear that Travis Sanheim’s injury is not a serious one. [Philly.com]

*Have you met our new staff photographer, Heather Barry? She got some great shots on the second day of training camp in Vorhees. [BSH]

*Speaking of camp, Charlie’s got a rundown of everything from day four, for subscribers. [The Athletic]

*James van Riemsdyk has been a Flyer before, sure, but this isn’t going to be the same JVR experience we had many years ago. New guy, new player. [Courier-Post]

*In what will hopefully be the first of many video breakdowns, Brad takes a look at how Mikhail Vorobyev performed in the first preseason game, and why you might be hearing his name a bit more now than you have in the past. [BSH]

*The Athletic is great and all but DGB going behind a paywall bums me out. Anyhoo, if you are a subscriber, he’s beginning his offseason Bizarro-meter series and the western conference is up first. [The Athletic]

*And finally, we’re going to be doing a lot of cool new things this season, but among the coolest is Steph’s latest project: taking you from your desk or your phone directly into the locker room. [BSH]
