Anthony Stolarz recalled, Cart Hart loaned to Phantoms

Moves, baby!

NHL: Minnesota Wild at Philadelphia Flyers Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Happy All-Star break, pals! Do you miss the Flyers? And when they do things? Well, if that’s the case, they heard you calls, and they had one more move up their sleeve: Anthony Stolarz has been recalled from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms from his conditioning stint, and Carter Hart has been assigned to the Phantoms.

So the tank is on!

Well, not quite. Let’s have a look at this comment from Chuck Fletcher about the move:

So, more likely, and as Fletcher’s comments suggest, this is all about getting Hart as many reps as possible, about keeping him fresh. The Phantoms play tomorrow and Saturday before they hit their own All Star break, so we stand to see him in at least one of those games, and he’ll get a bit more work in. No indications yet whether Hart’s stay with the Phantoms will be long or short term, however, but his recent play at least would suggest that he’s earned his stay with the big club, but we’ll see.

Stolarz has put up a .909 save percentage between his two games with Lehigh Valley on this conditioning stint, and Hart has averaged a .918 sv% in his 12 games with the Flyers.
