Slap Shots: Flyers vs Captials

Every game is 70+ minutes long now.

The red-hot Philadelphia Flyers were looking to keep their stretch of strong play going with a tough match-up against the Washington Capitals Wednesday night.

Carter Hart had a great outing, giving up one goal on 36 shots against. Claude Giroux paced the offense with a clutch power-play goal in the third period. The game would head to overtime and eventually, a shootout. Giroux would be the lone scorer for the Orange and Black, but Hart couldn’t keep the Capitals from the back of the net.

With another point, the Flyers were so close to getting a win over the divisional rival. They return to the ice Friday night in Ottawa to battle the Senators.
