The Philadelphia Flyers were looking to right the ship and get back in the win column on Saturday night as they hosted the New York Islanders.
The start was everything the Orange and Black would want, goals from Sean Couturier, Ivan Provorov, and Oskar Lindblom to give them a 3-0 lead heading into the third period and a good effort in net by Brian Elliott.
But then the third period happened. The Flyers blew a three-goal lead and the game would eventually head to overtime and then a shootout, which seems to be the norm for this team lately.
In the shootout, Jordan Eberle and Mathew Barzal beat Elliott and the home team couldn’t score. The Flyers list 4-3 in an extremely disappointing game. They return to action on Tuesday when the head to Florida to face the Panthers.
