Slap Shots: Flyers vs Canadiens

Wins, they’re fun!

The Philadelphia Flyers looked to continue their strong start at home with a battle against the Montreal Canadiens.

Phil Myers opened the scoring with a wrist shot from the point that found its way through traffic.

James van Riemsdyk added a quick one in the second period and the Flyers dominated the shot chart, but they couldn’t quite put the Canadiens away.

Six power plays and a penalty shot through three periods, but the Orange and Black couldn’t solve Carey Price. So the game would eventually head to overtime.

In overtime, Sean Couturier got a pass from Travis Konecny in the slot. Coots put a shot through a defender and it found its way through Price and into the back of the net for the overtime winner.

The Flyers now head out on the road to battle the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday night in Scotiabank Arena. Puck drops at 7pm.
