Imagine, as a Flyers fan, that you’re presented with an opportunity to write about your favorite team for the best Flyers blog on the internet. Well, you can stop imagining, because that opportunity is right here in front of you.

Broad Street Hockey is hiring writers to help cover the Flyers this offseason and beyond. Keep reading to find out if you’re the perfect fit for this opportunity.

What does the role entail?

These writers will be responsible for writing posts about the Flyers on agreed-upon topics and schedules. We have openings for multiple contributors. We’re looking for writers to contribute original analysis and opinion pieces about the Flyers. There is the possibility, though not guaranteed, of gaining credentialed access to the Flyers.

What qualifications should you have?

Our best candidates will:

  • Have a passion for the Flyers and will already be familiar with Broad Street Hockey.
  • Be able to produce and edit clean copy.
  • Be comfortable working in a remote environment.
  • Have a skill set, availability, and experience that works with our priorities.
  • Previous hockey writing experience is preferred.

How do you apply?

To apply, please submit a cover letter explaining why you’re the best candidate for the role, a resume detailing any previous hockey or sportswriting experience, and a hockey-related writing sample via our Vox Media Careers page. You must submit all three items to be considered for this role.

If you have questions about the application process, the role itself, or Broad Street Hockey or SB Nation in general, please reach out to Jeanna Thomas, SB Nation’s Senior Talent Manager for Team Brands, at

Vox Media, SB Nation, and Broad Street Hockey are committed to bringing you coverage of the Flyers from a diverse array of voices and perspectives.
