As of the 16th of July, in the year two-thousand and nineteen, the Flyers have not reached an agreement with either Travis Konecny or Ivan Provorov on a new contract. However, today, they did re-sign somebody whom they hope will contribute next season.
The Flyers announced this afternoon that they signed Nicolas Aube-Kubel to a one year, two-way contract worth an AAV of $700K.

Aube-Kubel scored 30 points in 54 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and made his Flyers debut last season. In nine games with the Flyers he scored zero points with two shots on goal. In those nine games, he didn’t look completely out of place in the 5:35 average time he spent on the ice, and it will be interesting to see what his role within the organization will be. The former second round pick has a lot to prove, and will certainly be eying up that 12th forward spot that has yet to be filled. Given his limited usage last year, I have a feeling that NAK’s role with the team will be on the fourth line either in place of or over the likes of Tyler Pitlick or Michael Raffl. He will almost certainly be one of the first call-ups to the big club if he continues to play effectively at the AHL level.
