Training camp has started, Ivan Provorov has a contract, Travis Konecny does not

Half is better than nothing? Maybe?

Today is the day! Flyers training camp has begun and Ivan Provorov is in attendance! Last night, just in the nick of time, Provorov signed a six year contract worth $6.75 million AAV. Generally, this contract has been regarded as a good one, we broke it down this morning. So while this is all exciting and fun and good ... Travis Konecny does not have a contract and has not shown up to training camp.

So, how is that going?

Yeah ok that’s fine. Everything here is fine. Yesterday’s update looked at what the holdup could be, I remain hopeful that he will sign soon, especially now that Provorov has signed. The question of what exactly we have in Konecny is a complex one that really don’t have an answer, yet.

But, we have to be prepared for every possible scenario, which includes an extended hold out and a potential trade. Neither of these would be fun for me personally. Travis Konecny was born to be a Flyer, let us please get this deal done sooner rather than later.

We’re now in uncomfortable territory, one that only 22% of voters in our poll thought was the most likely to happen. Now the new question is: when do we think he will play?

When will Travis Konecny sign a contract?
