Slap Shots: Flyers vs Islanders

Ahh, hockey at The Farg. A beautiful site.

Hockey is officially back at the Wells Fargo Center as the preseason kicked off against the Islanders on Monday night.

James van Riemsdyk was the lone scorer for the Orange and Black as he got on the board early in the second period, hoping to shift some momentum. It wouldn’t be enough as the Flyers fell 3-1 in the preseason opener.

Photographer Heather Barry was in the building to capture some fists flying, shining stars of the future franchise, and of course, the beloved Gritty.

The Flyers battle the Islanders again, this time at the Barclays Center in New York. And one more reminder: It’s just the preseason, guys.
