The Pens are coming to town; how about we get wild?

One game before we break, friends.

Friends, let’s have a little chat.

A lot has been made this season of the Flyers’ very visible attendance issues. The team is averaging 17,995 fans in the building this season, well short of the listed capacity of 19,537. And listen, we get it. Tickets are expensive. Parking is absurdly expensive. Your couch is comfortable and warm. And the team has been, to put it mildly, a bit of a letdown over the last several years. The apathy is strong among us right now.

But as we head into the long, blissful, relaxing All-Star break, we have a fun opportunity to have a little fun with the Flyers. A shot for all of us to get together, have some cold ones and hot dogs, and enjoy hockey together. And really, isn’t that the best part of going to hockey games? You’re among your people. You can turn to the stranger next to you, complain about JVR’s inability to convert on the power play these days, and they’re going to get it. Insta-friend.

Thanks to our pals at StubHub, we’ve got a chance to buy some discounted tickets for Tuesday’s game against the Penguins. An opportunity to fill the building before the break, to get loud with our friends, to remember why we love this sport, and to have a little bit of fun. Let’s all head to South Philly and remind the Penguins what Flyers fans are about.
