*We got a lot of news yesterday! Truly thrilling. The biggest being that the league will, in fact, out advertisements on player helmets this season. There seems to be some outrage about this among a vocal cohort of hockey fans. Not sure what the big deal is here. [Sports Business Daily]

*The other big news was that Henrik Lundqvist will not be participating in this upcoming season, due to some health conditions. Big loss for the Caps, but here’s hoping Hank is okay in the long run. [Japers’ Rink]

*The NHL is still holding to their January 13 start date for now, there’s a pending lockdown in Ontario that might make the Canadian Division difficult to pull off. [Sportsnet]

*Apparently even Dr. Fauci weighed in on the best way for the NHL to proceed. Unfortunately, there’s no way they’ll be taking his advice. [Yahoo Sports Canada]

*You know how in soccer teams loan players to other teams all the time and it’s really no big deal? What if the NHL adopted something like this? [Stanley Cup of Chowder]

*Our old pal Eric Tulsky, supreme leader of those Carolina Hurricanes, did a Reddit AMA and when Eric T. is giving out free information, you’d do well to read it. So much to learn from this guy. [Reddit]

*We’ve got a new BSH Radio! If your podcast app auto-downloaded the episode as soon as it hit the air, please do me a favor and re-download. There was a snafu that was fixed. [BSH]

*And finally, this upcoming Wednesday is Festivus, and while we can’t have a party, that doesn’t mean we can’t party. This should be fun, we hope you’ll come hang with us. Virtually. [BSH]
