The results are in from our first matchup, and by a resounding 105 to 9 voting tally, Team USA defeat team Rest of Europe to advance!
The next vote will see Sweden take on the Czech Republic,
Facing off against each other in net will be Pelle Lindbergh and Michal Neuvirth. Though Neuvirth is a solid goaltender, and has a slight advantage in being a modern-era player with modern goalie technique, undoubtedly Lindbergh is the better goaltender, without question. While team Sweden feature an offensive blue-liner in Kim Johnsson, the Czechs have a more punishing defense core led by Radko Gudas. As for the forwards, while Sweden are led by the legendary Peter Forsberg, the Czechs sport two legends of their own in Jakub Voracek and Jaromir Jagr.
