The Philadelphia Flyers continue to take the NHL by storm. They hosted the Carolina Hurricanes with a chance to move into first place in the Metropolitan Division with a win.
The offense exploded, scoring four or more goals for the eighth straight game. Ivan Provorov opened the scoring by putting in his own rebound as the first period came to a close. Michael Raffl jumped in on a rush in the second and deposited a goal of his own, continuing his strong play.
Justin Williams got Carolina within a goal early in the third period, but the Flyers would answer in a big way. Two goals from Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Sean Couturier in 26 seconds would help ice the game for the Orange and Black.
The Flyers would go on to win their eighth game in a row and continue their dominance since early January. They return to action on Saturday at home against the Buffalo Sabres.
