Is Gary Bettman doing a good job?

We asked hockey fans and the results are not what I expected.

As we all know, the NHL is making a serious push to complete the 2019-20 season in the face of a global pandemic. The man leading this charge: Gary Bettman, the only Commissioner the NHL has ever had. In the face of other leagues falling on their faces while also trying to play (looking at you, baseball), we asked hockey fans how they feel about the job Gary Bettman is doing.

And, well, I was surprised.

More than half of hockey fans feel like Bettman is doing a good job. The fanbase that famously boos the man at any given opportunity is confident in the job he is doing and the direction of the league. Huh. 2020 is a very weird year.

These results are a little more predictable given (sweeping hand gesture to the flaming husk of the planet) everything.

What do you think — how is our good friend Gary doing?
