I don’t think too many people had Michael Raffl and Nate Thompson combining for the first couple of goals of these pseudo-playoffs, but here we are.

Raffl, who later exited with what could be a costly lower-body injury, potted the first goal of the game and then set up Nate Thompson with the second, en route to a 4-1 win over the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Boston Bruins.

Carter Hart was his typical, confident and smooth self, stopping all but one of Boston’s 35 shots on goal, and that one wasn’t even really a shot- Hart sealed off an attempt from behind the net but the puck seemed to hit Robert Hagg in front and careen behind the still 21-year-old netminder for the Bruins’ only tally.

There were a lot of positive in this one, from the team’s depth shining, to the Travis Sanheim and Phil Myers pair stepping up, to the utter domination of the B’s “Perfection Line” - if you weren’t excited before, there’s still plenty of room on this bandwagon.
