The Philadelphia Flyers entered Thursday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils with nine points in the standings and left the game with 11.

That’s good.

But, like... does this look like a very good team to you right now?

Philly was outshot 34-17 on the night, and 24-8 through the first two periods. The break out, defensive assignments, and actually shooting when possessing the puck in the vicinity of the opposing net continued to be issues.

The 22-year-old netminder saw his first action since his stick-smashing effort against Boston last week, and he won the game for the oranger and black.

Hart stopped 33 of Jersey’s 34 offerings, giving his team a chance despite a lackluster first 40 minutes of play in front of him. If nothing else, Hart’s game gave fans a reason to be optimistic.

Oh no, wait. Nate Prosser scored.

That’s really it now.
