NHL: Philadelphia Flyers at Carolina Hurricanes James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

*We knew the cuts were coming down the pike today, but not sure any of us expected that Morgan Frost would be cut from the team before the last preseason game was even played. Certainly an interesting decision, if nothing else. [BSH]

*Here’s the thing: Frost is definitely going to play for the Flyers this season. Probably early on. For whatever reason, the coaching staff wants him to get some reps up in Allentown. There’s no reason at all to worry. Probably. [BSH]

*Charlie gets even deeper into why this move shouldn’t be taken to mean more than it does. [The Athletic]

*It was a surprise though! No getting around that. Mostly because while Frost didn’t light the world on fire he certainly wasn’t bad. And he certainly wasn’t less effective than Jackson Cates. [NBC Sports Philly]

*The Flyers, who very clearly picked the new goal song months ago and decided to make a fun “fan vote” charade of the whole thing, have narrowed it down to three choices. [Flyers]

*Anyway let’s turn the focus to something good, shall we? Namely, Joel Farabee. Who is very good. And is planning to be better. [Inquirer]

*And finally, back to the bad, Friedman’s latest Thoughts shed some light on what went wrong for the Flyers last season in the wake of Lehner’s comments about AV. Spoiler alert: literally everything. [Sportsnet]
