*The Flyers closed out the first month of the season with their first definitively bad game of hockey against the Calgary Flames. Can’t win them all, folks. If you missed it, we’ve a recap. [BSH]

*If you had to pin this loss on some single thing, you could probably put it on the fact that the Flyers looked tired. Third game in four nights out west. It’s not that shocking. [Inquirer]

*But really, it was mostly that Calgary’s goaltender is on... fire... Flames... he’s good, folks. [Matchsticks & Gasoline]

*So good, in fact, that he’s one of the league-wide three stars of the week. [The Hockey News]

*You know who else is really good? Claude Giroux. [BSH]

*Despite the loss, the road trip as a whole was pretty dang successful. Charlie’s got Ten Things (mostly good ones!) about the trip, specifically the two wins that kicked things off. [The Athletic]

*Just in time for this week’s game against the Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are getting back to full strength. Yay. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And finally, in case you missed it Friday, a brand new episode of Flyperbole awaits you on the podcast airwaves. An unusually heavy episode. But it had to be done. [BSH]
