*The Flyers are in Long Island tonight to take on the Islanders, and while the playoffs are technically not out of reach, these games feel a little less important after the losses to Boston. But if these idiots go on a winning streak, we could be singing a whole different tune. [Inquirer]

*With the playoffs being a long shot at this point, and the NHL deadline only days away, we still don’t really know if Chuck Fletcher plans to buy or sell. Or do nothing. [BSH]

*It’s hard to imagine that the Flyers will be buyers at this point, but you can’t put anything past an NHL front office. But for the love of god, Chuck, not Marc Staal. [NBC Sports Philly]

*And why don’t we have a firm grasp on what the GM will be doing at the deadline? Because while we know this team isn’t going to win anything this year, they keep winning just enough individual games to keep the playoffs within reach. And it’s annoying. [Inquirer]

*Corey Pronman wrote an article projecting Carter Hart’s career. You’ll definitely love it. [The Athletic]

*This is an interesting read on how NMCs are impacting the way Seattle approaches the expansion draft. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, power rankings are largely not that interesting but this one kind of is because not only are the Flyers not at the bottom, they went up from the last one? Wild stuff. [ESPN]
