The Philadelphia Flyers are in the middle of a transaction-heavy summer, and despite the trade rumors, expansion draft estimates, and draft profiles coming in short order, we’re now looking not that far ahead to the 2021-22 preseason.
During the most chaotic week of hockey, they announced their six-game schedule to warm up for a very significant regular season.

Full preseason schedule:
Sept. 28 — vs. New York Islanders
Sept. 30 — @ Boston Bruins
Oct. 2 — vs. Washington Capitals
Oct. 4 — vs. Boston Bruins
Oct. 5 — @ New York Islanders
Oct. 8 — @ Washington Capitals
As mentioned in the extremely saturated graphic, the times of the games are going to be announced at a later date.
In a cruel and unjust world, the Flyers are of course opening their preseason with a home game against the Islanders — a pain and a thorn in the back of this damn team for a prolonged amount of time. Luckily, there are no back-to-back situations with any team and we can wallow in disappointment if any top prospects don’t immediately shine against the Bruins or Capitals.
No matter what the results are, or even if they matter, you know that there is going to be enough discussion around the first lineups we see in Philadelphia within minutes on Sept. 28. The regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
Now, it’s just the expansion and entry drafts.
