*So kind of a big weekend, huh pals? Let’s start with the draft and work our way up, excitement-wise. The Flyers made some picks over the weekend, and if you missed them, here’s a full rundown:

  • A Finnish winger was up first, with the 46th overall pick. [BSH]
  • Chuck went with a goalie with his next pick, number 78. [BSH]
  • At 110th overall they went defense. Really rounding things out huh? [BSH]
  • Another defenseman, this time from California, with pick 158. [BSH]
  • And ANOTHER defenseman at 174! [BSH]
  • And finally, at 206th, a center. [BSH]

*That kid they took at 206 is a local boy! You love to see it. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Speaking of local boys, Brian Boucher’s kid was drafted! Yes, that’s correct, you are that old. [Inquirer]

*Full run down of the draft weekend’s winners and losers, if you’re interested. [ProHockeyTalk]

*Okay let’s get to the big stuff! The Flyers’ first pick was number 46 because they traded the 13th pick, and a bunch of other stuff, to the Buffalo Sabres for Rasmus Ristolainen. Charlie unpacks it all for you. [The Athletic]

*Folks will probably like Risto, who says he’s excited to get here and be a “pain in the ass.” [NBC Sports Philly]

*After that bit of spiciness Chuck got even spicier, finally finding a place to send Jake Voracek. Back from whence he came, actually. [BSH]

*Charlie unpacks the Voracek trade as well, which honestly might end up being the biggest move of the summer. [The Athletic]

*And finally, the Ghost trade might have been the move made thus far that is the most... annoying? Frustrating? Whatever your feelings on it, it had to be done. And it’s good Chuck did it. [NBC Sports Philly]
