*A rare bit of fun happened in the NHL over the weekend, as the Carolina Hurricanes revealed a year-long grudge by offer-sheeting Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who obviously accepted their offer. [Canes Country] [Habs Eyes On The Prize]

*They’ll wait until the last possible moment to make their decision public, but the Habs probably won’t match. Because it doesn’t make sense for them to do so. [ProHockeyTalk]

*Anyway, the Flyers. Decidedly less fun over the weekend, but Development Camp got underway yesterday and we’re getting our first look — or first look in a while — at some of the young guys. Like Morgan Frost, who is coming off of surgery.

*In case you forgot, Sean Couturier is a very good dude who really really wants to be a Flyers. [NBC Sports Philly]

*And with the Coots contract out of the way, focus turns to Claude Giroux. Another good dude who really really wants to be a Flyers. [NBC Sports Philly]

*But the Flyers are in no rush with G. And that’s a good thing! [ProHockeyTalk]

*And finally, have you been keeping up with the women’s Worlds? We’re used to the Canada-USA rivalry in women’s hockey being rather evenly matched but so far, this year, Team Canada seems to be the best team running away. [The Athletic]
