Ghost, Laughton not playing for Phantoms tonight

+

Laughton was on the ice for the morning skate, and both players are in Allentown, but they won't be playing for the Phantoms this evening.

Bellemare talks about his chances

That’s a hard question. The first game was really the first game the whole season with the system. Then I was out for like a whole week with an injury. And yesterday was one of my worst games so far. And for a long time actually. I don’t know, tonight was a good game. But it’s just a game. Hopefully I’ll play on Thursday and can show some more.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare after Tuesday's preseason win vs. NYR

Here's the Flyers in-arena intro video

Via Reddit, here's the preseason version of this year's video introduction at the Wells Fargo Center. Not the best video, but you get the idea.

You can try out this weekend, if you want.

Sean Couturier's Offense

1

Ran the numbers on Couturier's 3-year career with an emphasis on zone start usage and most common teammates and line-mates. Pretty self-explanatory. The more Couts is used is an offensive manner, the more points he scores, and when you also give him offensively skilled line-mates, his scoring rates rise even more. You might say, "Well, yeah, duh, that would happen with anybody" and that may be true to a degree, but not likely the degree that it is true with Couturier, who does have an offensive pedigree. After all, he scored 223 points in 184 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, including back to back 96 point seasons in his final 2 years. That comes out to 1.21 points/game in the Q. Pretty good. The good news is that it looks like his usage is set to go more offensive this year with adding Simmonds to the duo of Couts and Read. It stands to reason that you wouldn't put Simmer on that line if you didn't plan on giving them plenty of offensive zone time. I expect good things.

I'm a little surprised no one else has posted/commented on this (nothing on front page yet).

Late bloomer, maybe?

Jagr first won the Art Ross in 1995. Voracek was born in 1989.

A few minor injuries

1

This probably explains why Rob Zepp is still in Flyers camp. Also of note: Pierre-Edouard Bellemare is still bothered with a minor injury and won't play until next week.

Giroux could play in preseason

He's not ruled out for next week's preseason games.

Flyers New Goal Horn?
