Jason LaBarbera called up by Flyers, will back up for tonight's game

+

This news comes as little surprise, after backup goalie Michal Neuvirth left last Wednesday's game against Boston after he was visibly shook up following the Bruins' second goal. LaBarbera will take his place on the bench tonight as Steve Mason gets the start against the Rangers.

I think he wants to come back to Philly, guys.

Quote Travis Sanheim, in his comments: "What a caption wow".

This kinda came out of nowhere, but it's great. The Provorov era in Philly is gonna be awesome.

Travis Sanheim dazzles on shorthanded goal in WHL

That is fast. Sanheim has 17 points -- five goals and 12 assists -- in 11 games with the Calgary Hitmen this season.

Watch: Sean Couturier finally gets one by Niemi; Flyers cut lead to 2-1

In the words of referee Eric Furlatt, that's a "good hockey goal." Sean Couturier didn't kick it in -- or, at least there as no distinct motion -- and he finished off Wayne Simmonds' great effort to cut Dallas' lead to 2-1 in the third period. Antti Niemi has been great all night, and the Stars have largely outplayed the Flyers. But it's just a one goal game.

Watch: Bad hop hurts Manning as Seguin gives Dallas 1-0 lead

Manning definitely could have played this one better, but that bounce was absolutely brutal and Jamie Benn made one hell of a play to get the puck to Tyler Seguin before the goal. Short side. Rough. It's 1-0 Dallas after one period.

Michael Del Zotto probably had a good time at the Eagles game

Michael Raffl, too!

You definitely know they had a great view.

Bless Claude Giroux and bless his 80s costume

I love Claude Giroux because he is the best.

Today Giroux, Bellemare, and Raffl stopped by CHOP and answered patient questions in the Ryan Seacrest Studio

For some reason, the Flyers have five days off in between games. It's ridiculous, especially since hockey only just got back, but hey - at least the Flyers are finding quality ways to spend their down time.

Like a visit to CHOP! If you aren't playing hockey, what better way to spend your day than by visiting with the kids at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia?

Jakub Voracek apparently lost a bet

The important thing is, Sam Gagner is happy. As are all of the Canadians on the Flyers, probably.
