The news of the week We\'ll kick off this week\'s report with a bit of good news. As we mentioned last week, Emil Andrae has been out with an upper body injury for the last few games, and while he\'s not quite ready to return to the Phantoms\' lineup, it\'s been reported that he\'s at least close to making that return. Exhale. And for some more good news, we have a prospect with some accolades to mention! Massimo Rizzo has been named the National Co-Player of the month for the month of October, a top honor for NCAA players, and that\'s pretty neat! What up with the Phantoms? To begin, it was a pretty solid week for the Phantoms, all in all. With three games on the slate, they were able to come away with five of the six available standings points, as they put up a regulation win, an overtime win, and an overtime loss. They found a bit more offensive production, and were a bit more consistent game over game than they had been over the previous few weeks, and with the lineup looking a little depleted (both by injury and illness, as well as call-ups to the Flyers), we’d call that quite the success. And as far as who’s leading that scoring charge, you’ll likely not be surprised to hear that it’s Olle Lycksell, still. He’s held on to his spot at the top of the Phantoms’ scoring chart, and tacked on two more goals on 12 shots on goal across those three games played. Folks, he just can’t slow down. He wasn’t the only one with a two-goal week though! After getting a bit of a late start after starting the season with an injury and taking a little time (read: three games) to get back up to speed, JR Avon put up two goals on the week, with the first on Wednesday against Hershey marking his first point of the season. And while we’re talking about big weeks, we can’t overlook the work that Samu Tuomaala has been doing. It’s been a long and strange road to get back to the AHL after a brief initial taste, and we’re starting to see him get going again, and it’s been a real treat. He’s scored a goal and assisted on three more over these last three games (which is tied with Eliot Desnoyers — who’s also finding some nice consistency — for the highest overall point total of any prospects over that span). Adam Ginning rounds out our list of goal scorers for the week, as he contributed one goal and an assist, while a recently recalled Mason Millman contributed two assists, and Helge Grans and Wade Allison (who only played two games, missing Sunday’s with illness) each had one. The prospect world tour The NCAA leg of the world tour continues to be a productive one. Rizzo -- who we\'ve already mentioned -- closed out October strong with that award and kicked off November well in response, putting up three assists in his last two games. Elsewhere in the NCHC, Owen McLaughlin is continuing to build momentum in his freshman campaign at North Dakota, and added a goal and three assists to his season total, while Alex Bump at Western Michigan, still looking to find a similar level of momentum, put up one assist. And then back East, a pair of the Flyers\' Boston based prospects are continuing to plug along nicely for their respective teams. Devin Kaplan put up a goal and two assists in Boston University\'s split series against North Dakota (hey, those guys again!), and has quietly crept back up towards a point per game scoring pace. now sitting at seven points in his first eight games. Up at Boston College, Cutter Gauthier is predictably continuing his run of excellent play, scoring two goals and an assist in his last two games. That puts him, we\'ll note for the sake of balance, now at a goal per game on the season. We\'ll continue our eastward trajectory (and mixing up our usual report order -- we hope you\'ll forgive us) and hop on over to check on a pair of European prospects. In the Allsvenskan, Alex Ciernik\'s scoring pace has slowed down a touch, but not dramatically, and he still registered two assists in his last three games. On the flip side, Matvei Michkov\'s scoring pace has absolutely not slowed down -- he put up a cool two goals and two assists in his last four games. And last but certainly not least, we\'ll circle back to our Canadian prospects. First up, Ryan MacPhereson had, by his standards, a bit of a slow week, but slow compared to his pace to date is still quite good (in this case, two assists in his last two games played). Over in London, the pair of Oliver Bonk and Denver Barkey are still as productive as ever. In the Knights\' last three games, Bonk has two assists, while Barkey has two goals and one assist. And we\'ll close this out with perhaps the biggest update of the week -- after coming back from an injury sustained during the first rookie game with the Flyers, Matteo Mann\'s season is off to a pretty solid start. He\'s played eight games already, and this past week he put up a goal and two assists -- his first points of the season. For those keeping track at home, he\'s already within two points of matching his total from last season , which took him 45 games to reach. We\'ll see how things continue to trend for him, but so far, so good!
