Catch Ivan Provorov if you can

Early morning international hockey is weird, but that’s what happens when there are tournaments being played in Finland. Tournaments in Finland where there appears to be a Flyers prospect doing rather well.

Ivan Provorov, recent seventh overall pick, is playing well for Team Russia in the World Junior Championships. With four wins – though the Czechs took them to a shootout, so they weren’t perfect – Russia claimed the top spot in Group B, and will face off against Team Denmark in their first playoff game on Jan. 2.

Thus far, Provorov is third in scoring out of all defensemen at the tournament with four assists. Russia has scored 14 goals this tournament, so that’s about 29% of the offense he’s been in on – not bad.

Also not bad? This play, as brought to us by Brady Trettenero:

That’s not going to show up on a scoreboard, but that is beyond awesome.
