Philadelphia Flyers announce 2019-20 preseason schedule

The Philadelphia Flyers announced their preseason schedule today. The club will take part in eight preseason games, which opens with the Rookie Game on September 11th and ends in Switzerland on September 30th. Here’s a look at the whole schedule.

September 11th – 7:05 pm, Rookie Game vs. New York Islanders (@ PPL Center)

September 16th – 7pm, New York Islanders

September 17th – 7pm, @ New York Islanders

September 19th – 7pm, Boston Bruins

September 21st – 7pm, New York Rangers

September 23rd – 7pm, @ Boston Bruins

September 26th – 7pm, @ New York Rangers

September 30th – 1pm, @ HC Lausanne (Switzerland)

For a fourth season in a row, the Flyers and the New York Islanders young guns will face off in the Rookie Game with this year’s matchup taking place at the PPL Center (the home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms). Philly won last year’s meeting 6-3 and have won two of the previous three Rookie Games against the Isles.

Following the Rookie Game the actual Flyers and Islanders will face off back-to-back nights in Philadelphia on the 16th and then on Long Island the 17th. The Orange and Black then return home to host both the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers before visiting both squads in an eight-day span. As previously announced Philly closes their preseason with a game against HC Lausanne, who is a member of Switzerland’s NLA (the nation’s top league).

The Flyers open their season on October 4th in the Czech Republic in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
