Flyers Farm Stars: Barkey’s dramatic week, Andrae and Lycksell on the move

Now that all of the trade deadline dust has settled, the Flyers are right back at it later today with a game, and we\'re right back at it to talk about, well, normal things again. Let\'s dig into some prospect stuff, shall we?

The News of the Week

Remember when we said Jack Berglund had been loaned to a team in the Allsvenskan and this would hopefully stick for the remainder of the season because that level seems to be the one which best suits him? Well, he\'s on the move again. He\'s back with Färjestad of the J20 Nationell. We\'ll see how long this one lasts.

Other than that, the big news of the week is that a handful of Phantoms players are also on the move , set to join the Flyers to fill in their roster after some vacancies were made by the deadline moves. Olle Lycksell, Rodrigo Abols, and Emil Andrae are on their way to join the team, and Andrae at least is expected to hang around for the rest of the season.

Three Stars

Olle Lycksell

Speaking of Lycksell, he\'s certainly earned himself that nod to get back up with the big club. Over his last three games played with the Phantoms, he put up a pretty whopping three goals and two assists (it\'s also worth noting that these points all came in the first two games of the weekend, as the Phantoms were shut out in the final game in Hershey). That shutout brought to an end a nine-game points streak for Lycksell, one which, if he had extended it to 10, would have matched the franchise record for longest points streak. But, streaks or no streaks aside, Lycksell is playing some of the best hockey of his professional career at the moment. Let\'s hope he can keep that rolling into whatever NHL minutes he gets this weekend.

Jacob Gaucher

Sticking with the Phantoms for a little while longer, while Lycksell was on an impressive tear last weekend, Jacob Gaucher wasn\'t far behind him in terms of output. In those first two games of the weekend where points were scored for the team in any capacity, Gaucher put up three goals and an assist. He’s finding some nice consistency, and that’s very good news for the team as a whole. They’ve been struck again by the injury bug and the lineups have been a bit in flux, but Gaucher’s continued to bring some real stability for them down the middle.

Denver Barkey

And to close things out, we\'ve got kind of a wildly mixed bag of a week for Denver Barkey. On the positive side, Barkey had himself yet another productive week, putting up a goal and three assists across his two games played.

On the negative side, that goal he scored came at a price -- he got London on the board with that goal against Niagara, but got shoved hard into the boards right after, and stayed down for a while in clear discomfort. Now, he did finish that game, but he\'s missed their next three games since. No timeline has been given for his return, but hopefully it\'s nothing major and his injury stint is short, with the playoffs just around the corner.

Honorable Mentions

Circling back to the Phantoms — we just can\'t escape them — they found a nice bit of production elsewhere in the lineup, beyond just Lycksell and Gaucher. Emil Andrae also had a nice, as it would turn out to be, last weekend with the team for the foreseeable future, coming away with two assists across his three games played, a pace which Zayde Wisdom also matched, as he\'s working nicely to find some consistency in his game.

Abroad, it\'s been an eventful week for Berglund — he played one game with his Allsvenskan squad to close out his stint there, and was held off the board, but he got off to a scorching start after his latest move, putting up four assists in his first game back with Färjestad. And then over in the KHL, Yegor Zavragin also had himself a big week. Though he\'s been a little up and down of late, in his last two starts on the week, he allowed just two goals in each game (on 33 and 35 shots faced, respectively) as he continues to settle his play down a bit more.

Back stateside, last weekend saw another pair of prospects facing off, as Western Michigan and North Dakota met for a two-game series. That series ended in a split with one win apiece, and Owen McLaughlin came away with three assists across the weekend, while Alex Bump had a goal and an assist in the Broncos\' win, but was held off the board in the loss. Elsewhere in the college hockey world, Cole Knuble wrapped up his regular season on a high note — though he didn\'t manage to score any goals, he did still put up three assists across Notre Dame\'s pair of games against Michigan State.

And finally, Barkey wasn\'t the only junior hockey player to find a bit of production on the week. Noah Powell\'s on a bit of a roll up in Oshawa, as he put up two goals on the week and brought his total up to six goals and18 points across his first 22 games with his new team, while both Heikki Ruohonen and Spencer Gill have just put up some nice burst of production, as they each have two assists over their last two games.
