Would you look at that, some good news! Returning from a two-game stint with Philadelphia, Tanner Laczynski was set to return to the Phantoms tonight. However, hours after the game’s cancellation, the Flyers have announced that Laczynski will return to the Flyers’ Taxi Squad.

Phantoms games postponed through the weekend
However, he’s not coming alone. Wade Allison has also been recalled to the Taxi Squad. For Allison, it is the first NHL call-up of his career. Allison, 23, had a late start to the season while still recovering from off-season ankle surgery, but has quickly made an impact on the team. In eight games with the Phantoms, Allison has scored four goals and assisted on five other tallies. At 5-on-5, Allison currently possesses the best shot metrics on Phantoms, with a stellar 61.16 Corsi-For percentage, and 61.86 Expected Goals-For percentage.
Allison’s shot is his biggest weapon, one he’s not one to shy away from a shooting opportunity.
That’s two goals in two games for Wade Allison. His shot is something else. pic.twitter.com/mrcDFBICoi

In his first two appearances with the Flyers, Laczynski played a solid fourth line game and made a case to stay in the lineup, however it wasn’t enough to stick. The plan was to get him into more AHL games, but with the postponements, things have changed. Similarly to Allison, Laczynski has had one of the biggest positive impacts on the Phantoms even strength play this season.
Tomorrow’s contest against the Sabres will mark the Flyers’ fifth game in seven days, and they may be looking to give a couple of players a day off. Or, they could decide to sit out someone they may be looking to trade ahead of the deadline to avoid injury.
Hopefully, we get a look at both of them in the lineup tomorrow afternoon, and beyond.
