After releasing their roster and schedule for Rookie Camp a few days ago, the Philadelphia Flyers announced their 46-man training camp roster and schedule which kicks off on Sept. 17, days prior to their first exhibition game.
Let's play some hockey. 👊

The 2026 Training Camp roster and schedule are here!
The roster consists of 26 forwards, 16 defensemen, and four goaltenders. But overall, there are not a lot of surprises here, as most of the roster includes players who spent time with Philadelphia or with Lehigh Valley. Up front, the roster includes a bevy of returning Flyers: Sean Couturier, Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Noah Cates, Trevor Zegras, Matvei Michkov, Tyson Foerster, Carl Grundstrom, Nikita Grebenkin, Christian Dvorak, Denver Barkey, Alex Bump, and Porter Martone. As well, newcomer Noel Acciari — who is expected to be a depth player on Philadelphia’s fourth line — will also be at camp. And Jett Luchanko, who spent a few games in the National Hockey League last year before spending most of last year in the Ontario Hockey League, will try to make a case to stick with the big club.
The remainder of the forwards include those who either had cups of coffee with the Flyers or spent most of last season with American Hockey League’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. They include veteran Garrett Wilson, Devin Kaplan, Zayde Wisdom, and Jacob Gaucher. And there are a handful of free agents most likely destined for the Phantoms although will attend the Flyers’ camp: Danila Klimovich, Zach Aston-Reese, Jack Studnicka, and Nolan Foote. Fleshing out the forwards are a trio of former NCAA players who had brief stints with the Phantoms last year. They include Cole Knuble, Riley Thompson, and Noah Powell.
Defense, goalies are a lot of familiar faces
The Flyers have zero camp invites on the roster, or those signed to Professional Tryouts (PTOs). That’s most likely due to the condensed exhibition season and the 13-day camp, resulting in less time for players to prove themselves to win a spot or survive the first few cuts. Of the 16 defensemen on the roster, Cam Dineen and Andrew Perrott are the lone free agent signings, as both spent time with Bakersfield and Rockford in the AHL, respectively. Elsewhere the returning Flyers are led by Travis Sanheim, Cam York, Jamie Drysdale, Rasmus Ristolainen, Nick Seeler, and Simon Benoit (who is most likely the club’s seventh defenseman).
Those hoping to stick with the Flyers this year, and have the best chance to do so, is David Jiricek, Oliver Bonk, Hunter McDonald, and Helge Grans. Jiricek might not have a lot of wiggle room to make his mark, as he’s not waiver exempt and could be picked up by another club should he be put on waivers to send him down to Lehigh Valley. Ty Murchison is another name to keep tabs on, as a lot of people in the organization apparently has a lot of time for the physical defender.
Fleshing out the defense corps is 2026 first-round pick Maksim Sokolovskii, Spencer Gill, and Jackson Edward. Again, barring injuries, a lot of these defense slots are spoken for. But it will still be interesting to see how things play out.
As for the goaltenders, Dan Vladar and Joseph Woll will be at camp alongside Carson Bjarnason and Aleksei Kolosov. Vladar and Woll are the tandem set for Philadelphia while Bjarnason and Kolosov are going to have time to develop with the Phantoms.
Schedule short and sweet
Judging from the schedule, it appears the 46 players will be divided into three groups (A,B, and C) over Sept. 17 and 18 with on-ice activities, with a scrimmage between groups A and B on Sept. 19. Following an off-day on Sept. 20, the players slated to play Sept. 21 against Washington will take part in a morning skate while the other groups are also on the ice that morning. The same format takes place on Sept. 22 as the Flyers play their second exhibition game against the Bruins at TD Garden.
The latter half of the camp sees practices taking place on Sept. 23 before Philadelphia plays the visiting Bruins on Sept. 24, again with morning skates and practices similar to the aforementioned game days. The camp takes another day off Sept. 25 before playing the final exhibition game against Washington, again at Xfinity Mobile Arena, on Sept. 26. The following day is a practice day and the team has one more off day on Sept. 28. It’s expected the lineup will look almost identical to the regular season lineup for the last exhibition game, with anyone on the bubble having one last chance to survive the cut.
The Flyers start the regular season Sept. 30 against the visiting Penguins before heading to New Jersey the following night to play their first road game.
