The NHL trade deadline is right around the corner, and the Philadelphia Flyers are expected (!) to make a move or two by the time the clock strikes 3:00 p.m. ET on March 3.
Rumors are swirling this time of year, so we’ve compiled all of the juiciest Flyers rumors right here for your viewing pleasure.

Flyers want third-round pick for van Riemsdyk
Did you think James van Riemsdyk was going to netthe Flyers a first-round pick?
That’s cute.
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, the Flyers are hoping to receive a third-round pick for their veteran winger. Not exactly a return that’ll knock anyone’s socks off.
Flyers taking calls on Provorov
We’re just over 48 hours away from the trade deadline and a report of the Flyers taking calls on defenseman Ivan Provorov has come out via Darren Dreger of TSN.
With the defenseman market drying up after Vladislav Gavrikov and Mattias Ekholm have been dealt, Philadelphia could be taking advantage of some teams wanting to acquire some long-term help on the blue line before Friday. It was rumored before that the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers were interested in the 26-year-old blueliner, but those teams have got their respective guys.
Provorov is signed through the 2024-25 season at a cap hit of $6.75 million.

Several teams reportedly looking into a Kevin Hayes acquisition
Frank Seravalli is reporting that the Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, and Minnesota Wild are among several NHL looking hard at Kevin Hayes as a possible deadline move. Seravalli speculates that will many of the Big Names already off the market, Kevin Hayes (with the Flyers retaining salary, of course) has become an attractive option for teams willing to be creative at this year’s deadline.
Flyers interested in reclamation projects
This trade deadline will not just be about selling for the Flyers. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Philadelphia was involved in the talks surrounding forwards Denis Gurianov and Vitali Kravtsov before they were shipped off somewhere else by their teams.
Those two former first-rounders will reportedly be the type of player the Flyers want to target as acquisitions before March 3, and possibly as the return for some of their available players. Friedman even hypothesized that if James van Riemsdyk was heading to the Dallas Stars, that Gurianov would be heading to the Flyers.
There are plenty of these kind of players out there, so we’ll have to keep an eye out.
Ratcliffe goes to Nashville
Just as things were starting to calm down late Sunday night, boom! The Flyers hit us with a blockbuster.
Not really.
The Flyers traded forward prospect Isaac Ratcliffe, who is large (6-foot-5, 200 pounds), to the Nashville Predators for future considerations. The Flyers selected Ratcliffe with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft after handing the Arizona Coyotes three draft picks to trade up for him.
Flyers intend to trade van Riemsdyk
It’s one of the worst kept secrets ahead of the trade deadline. James van Riemsdyk being moved is almost a certainty at this point as he plays out the final year of his contract.
According to Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek, the Flyers are actively planning on moving the veteran winger, listing the Vegas Golden Knights, Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars as potential trade partners.
James van Riemsdyk has amassed 297 goals and 585 points in 919 career games. He’s also crossed the 20-goal marker seven times in his 14-year career.
He led the Flyers with 24 goals last season.
Farabee on the trade block?
Joel Farabee apparently hasn’t been having a great time this season. Pretty hard to blame him, honestly.
The 22-year-old has been struggling mightily lately, which isn’t totally shocking given the fact that he missed pretty much all of training camp recovering from disc replacement surgery. Farabee appeared to have a bright future with the Flyers just a couple years ago — and he still might! But he’s reportedly not untouchable now after basically being benched by John Tortorella against the Calgary Flames on February 20.
Will the Flyers actually trade Farabee? Probably not. He’s a talented young player, and the Flyers badly need as many of those as possible. Still, it’s something to monitor.

Several Flyers players seem like logical candidates to be moved at the trade deadline. James van Riemsdyk, Nick Seeler, Justin Braun and even Patrick Brown could be on the move. But where are the best fits for them?
