To be quite honest, that Carolina game was not nearly as bad as we thought it would be. The Flyers showed a lot of hope, and but for some fairly spectacular goaltending, we would have easily hit the over. The struggling Buffalo Sabres now come to town. Here are the numbers: Odds Puck Lines Buffalo -1.5 (+195) Philadelphia +1.5 (-238) Over/Under Over 6.5 (-130) Under 6.5 (+110) Money Line Buffalo (-115) Philadelphia (+105) Miscellaneous Flyers 1st Period Goals Over .5 (-190) Travis Sanheim Over .5 Points (+110) Flyers Race to 3 Goals (+170) Morgan Frost Anytime Goal Scorer (+250) Predictions Look, BSH\'s record thus far might be mediocre, but if a few pucks would have bounced our way, we would easily be batting .750 at this point in the season. No one could have predicted the Flyers\' absolutely humiliating loss to the Anaheim Ducks in which BSH lost all three bets, and Monday night\'s game against the Hurricanes was an offensive showdown in which both teams recorded a ridiculous number of high quality scoring chances, but the goaltending proved to be better. Indeed, the Flyers record (4-4-1) wouldn\'t be so bad if they had not already played three of the best teams in the league. Unable to keep up with the pace of the Stars, the Golden Knights, and the Hurricanes, the Flyers had little hope of entering November over .500. Nonetheless, they have undoubtedly passed the eye test. The offense is clicking. The veteran\'s are doing their jobs. The fourth line is stepping up. Travis Sanheim is capable of big defensive minutes. And, of course, Carter Hart is Carter Hart. It is hard to imagine that the Flyers don\'t pull out a win tonight against Buffalo. The question is \"...by how much?\" Here are our picks. Picks Philadelphia Money Line (+105) To be clear, the Puck Line doesn\'t help you tonight since the Flyers come in as the underdogs. If they were favored, we definitely might be hitting a Philadelphia -1.5, but that is simply not the case. Is it possible that the Flyers drop another \"should-win\" game? Of course. But they have lost two in a row, and we don\'t think the streak will continue. They showed tremendous heart against Carolina, and this Buffalo team is very beatable. Flyers 1st Period Goals Over .5 (-190) Boy oh boy did we breath a sigh of relief when the Flyers scored not one, but two goals in the first period on Monday night. Again, the Ducks game was terrible on every level, and one of the most disappointing realities was the Flyers\' inability to score a first period goal for the first time all season. We kept the hope alive, however, and returned to our trusty bet against Carolina. Thankfully, the Flyers delivered. Disclaimer: the odds are a little riskier tonight, coming in at a low-yielding -190, so if you don\'t like the \"(relatively) high risk, low reward\" pick, this might not be your cup of tea. Flyers Race to 3 Goals (+170) Let\'s make a third pick tonight. If the Flyers indeed come out swinging, this game could get out of hand quickly. Do we think that these teams can hit the over 6.5? Eh, it is possible, but we aren\'t too confident. Instead, we like the race to 3 goals. BSH Pick Record 6-7 Best of luck, and check back in on Friday when the Flyers once again face the Buffalo Sabres!
