The Wells Fargo Center is no more. The Philadelphia Flyers’ home arena will have a new name starting in the 2025-26 season, and we now know what that will be: Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The name change will be effective on September 1 of this year until the end of the 2030-31 season.
Coming this fall: Home of the Flyers and 76ers to have new name: Xfinity Mobile Arena.

“Philadelphia is home to the most passionate fans in the country, and that competitive spirit is a perfect complement to the Xfinity Mobile brand,” said Steve Croney, Chief Operating Officer, Connectivity & Platforms, Comcast. “Xfinity Mobile is fueled by the largest and fastest WiFi network in America which will give our Philadelphia fans an unrivaled experience at one of Philadelphia’s legendary sports and entertainment venues.”
Comcast has long held a stake in the Flyers organization, and in the arena itself, so it makes sense that one of its newer ventures will be plastered on the stadium where they play.
“This arena is an anchor in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and broader region,” said Dan Hilferty, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Spectacor. “As we complete our historic relationship with Wells Fargo, we wanted to ensure that our new partner matched our enthusiasm for delivering world-class service to our fans and guests. We are committed to continuing investing in our venue to ensure we’re at the forefront of technology, innovation, and cutting-edge fan experiences. We couldn’t be more excited that Xfinity Mobile’s brand will become the centerpiece
The Flyers have played at the same arena for nearly 30 years now, with several name changes taking place during that time. Originally called Spectrum II in 1996, then the Corestates Center until 1998, then the First Union Center from 1998 until 2003. The Wells Fargo Center moniker was preceded by the Wachovia Center from 2003 until 2010.
It was announced last year that the 2024-25 season would be the last hurrah for the Wells Fargo Center, with the bank holding the naming rights since 2010.
While there could’ve been some more creative names for where the Flyers are going to be playing, the actual answer was right in front of us all along.
