*The Flyers closed out their slate of games in the month of October last night with a matchup against the Predators, and it was a weird one. Decidedly less spirited than Tuesday’s against the Penguins, the Flyers failed to break 20 shots put on goal, but still managed to come away with a 4-1 win. Hockey is weird sometimes. [BSH]
*There was a lot of good coming out of that game, but there was one decidedly bad thing: Sean Couturier took a shot off the arm (friendly fire, even worse) in the first period and was unable to return to the game beyond the first intermission. [BSH]
*Bill has his reactions to the game as well, for an extra perspective. [PHLY]
*And some more notes on the game here as well! [Inquirer]
*Bobby Brink had another good game in this one too, and he’s certainly made a fan through this first month of the season of Rick Tocchet. [BSH]
*We also had a bit of news come down before the game, as the Flyers announced that they’ve traded prospect Samu Tuomaala to the Stars in exchange for AHL defenseman Christian Kyrou. [BSH]
*Charlie has his own breakdown of the trade, with some added context on the Phantoms’ blue line situation from yours truly. [PHLY]
*And finally, Jett Luchanko’s back in Guelph (he got in for his first game officially last night) and he’s set to have a big rest of his season. [BSH]
