Friday Morning Fly By: Sit back & let the narratives wash over you.

*Oh hey, Shayne Gostisbehere, one of the Flyers‘ most electrifying players in years, was rightfully chosen by the local press as Philly Athlete of the Year! What a well deserved honor, eh? [BSH]

*And then, in what is quite possibly the most Flyera turn of events, Dave Hakstol announced that Shayne Gostisbehere would be a healthy scratch for the Jets game. He’d be sitting in favor of Andrew MacDonald. Folks… [BSH]

*But lookie there folks, I guess scratching Ghost was the key since the Flyers went out and beat the Jets last night. Which yeah that’s good and all but not super helpful if we’re going to get Hak to settle down a bit with the lineup decisions. RECAP!

*Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of conversation about this particular decision on social media when it happened yesterday. Some people were really twisting into all kinds of logic pretzels in order to make it seem like a good choice by the coach. Here’s why it wasn’t. [BSH]
