Phantoms games postponed through the weekend

We first learned that there was an issue this afternoon, when it was announced that what would have been Lehigh Valley’s game tonight against the Hershey Bears would not go on as planned. The news broke roughly four hours ahead of puck drop, and shortly it was made known that tomorrow’s game had also been postponed.

It is not the first time that the league has had to suspend Phantoms games due to COVID-19 protocols this season; however, as Tony Androckitis of Inside AHL Hockey first reported, it seems that there is a truly positive test result rather than a false-positive this time around.

For those that were looking forward to Cam York’s professional debut, we’ll all have to wait a bit longer. Of course, what matters most is the health of those affected, and we hope that this doesn’t develop into a full-fledged outbreak.

The Phantoms are currently scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 14th. Whether or not there will be any additional postponements will depend on future test results.
