*The Flyers had one job this weekend if they wanted to get themselves back into the playoff race, and just you case you had any misconceptions about where this team is, progress-wise, they blew it. Just completely and totally blew it. Nice job all around. RECAP!

*If you’re a subscriber over at Charlie’s website you can read his thoughts on Saturday’s loss. [PHLY]

*None of us should really be surprised by the result of that game, though. It was a perfect distillation of every single problem this team has had since Rick Tocchet took the reigns. [The Athletic]

*So is that it? Are the playoff hopes dead? Not technically, no, but if we are being realistic… [Inquirer]

*Anyway Rick Tocchet hopes the boys are too sad about the fact that they stink, specifically on the power play. [BSH]

*Given where things are at this point, we are thinking the Flyers should really consider giving Dan Vladar a bit of a break down the stretch. [BSH]

*Somewhat related, apparently Danny Briere was going hard to upgrade the goaltending at the deadline. Interesting! [BSH]

*We’re doing this cool new thing where we compare two players on the Flyers by blindly comparing their stat lines. It’s pretty interesting so we hope you like it! [BSH]

*Okay forget the actual Flyers for a sec, let’s talk prospects: first up, Noah Powell, who did a pretty solid job in his debut up in Allentown. [BSH]

*On the Porter Martone front, he and his team lost over the weekend but Martone and his teammate Shane Vansaghi still looked good. [BSH]

*And we’ve got a full edition of the Prospect Report for you, with some news on how New Guy David Jiricek is doing. [BSH]

*After the Leafs lost Auston Matthews for the season as a result of a very dirty knee-on-knee from Noted Dirty Guy Radko Gudas, some big names are speaking out about the current state of player safety. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, it’s easy to be negative about the Flyers. It always is. We just did it, right up there at the beginning of this link dump. But you know what’s more fun, if you’re honest with yourself? Rooting for your favorite team to win. [BSH]
